Gujia is a sweet snack from India and is often referred to as Pedekiya. It is prepared from refined flour, semolina, sugar, mawa, ghee and dry fruits. Cashews, almonds and raisins are most commonly dry fruits used in this delicacy. Basically, dumplings prepared from refined wheat flour are filled with filling and deep fried in oil or ghee to prepare Gujia. The filling is prepared from mawa and semolina along with other ingredients. Shredded coconuts, jaggery etc. are also added to enhance the flavour. Sometimes, dumplings are dipped in sugar syrup just like jalebi. But mostly, sugar is added into the filling.
