Onions are a necessity in most Indian households. It is used in stews, gravies, pancakes, sauces and salads. I used to love basic onion salad but as I grew up I started to crave something more spicy with my meals. Pickled onions are my favorite thing to have with my meals. They have a good crunch and perfect spiciness. They can be stored in an airtight container in a fridge for 2-3 days.

Pickled onions are a perfect side dish for rice dishes like pulao or biryani. They are easy to make and can be stored in the fridge for days.

Ingredients

  • 1 onion

  • 4 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

  • 1-2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon powdered sugar

Directions

  • Peel and cut onion into thin slices.
  • Add apple cider vinegar, salt and sugar in a bowl.
  • Add sliced onion and mix well.
