Sorbet is a dairy-free frozen dessert. It is often referred to as Italian ice. Sorbet is prepared from sugar, water, and flavorings. Generally, fruit juices and puree are used as flavoring. Sometimes, honey or corn syrup is added to make softer sorbets.
Sorbet is sometimes confused with Sherbet which is a product prepared with dairy and has a creamy texture.
