Hummus is basically a dip from the Middle-East which is popularly used as a spread as well. It is prepared from chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, oil, salt and paprika. It is often served with snacks or appetisers. Chickpeas are the main ingredient of Hummus, they are cooked, mashed and blended with tahini to prepare hummus. Spices like cumin, parsley and black pepper are also added in some regions to enhance its flavor. Hummus can be prepared at home or you can easily get it at stores.
